Skilled Worker Class Immigration Programs
Skilled workers are people who are selected as permanent residents based on their ability to become economically established in Canada. Skilled workers are selected as permanent residents based on their education, work experience, knowledge of English and/or French, and other criteria that have been shown to help them become economically established in Canada.
You can either apply under the federal program or, you can make your application through one of the provincial programs. There are several options for you to consider as a skilled worker applicant as listed below:
- Federal Skilled Worker: For skilled worker applicants who intend to reside in any province or territory, except Quebec.
- Federal Skilled Trades: The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for people who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
- Quebec Skilled Worker (or Quebec Permanent Worker): For skilled worker applicants who intend to reside in the Province of Quebec.
- Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP) Skilled Worker: For skilled workers who intend to reside in a certain province. Most provinces in Canada have an agreement with the Government of Canada that allows them to nominate immigrants who wish to settle in that province.
